A couple of weeks ago, my grandmother came round to our family garden for her birthday for a socially distanced party. When she called to say that she was bringing a tea loaf with her, I couldn't help but think that it sounded a little boring. Surely for your birthday you want to splash out on something a bit more exciting?! But I was so wrong. The cake that was presented was so delicious I just had to get the recipe and try it myself! So, here it is; my grandmother's tea loaf recipe - I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 200g Self Raising Flour
- 50g Raisins
- 50g Sugar
- 300ml Oat Milk (or other plant milk alternative)
- 1/4 tsp Mixed Spice (optional)
Step 1:
Put the flour, raisins, sugar and spices into a bowl and gently stir together.

Step 2:
Add the Oat Milk into the bowl and mix with a spoon until the mixture is soft.

Step 3:
Pour the mixture into a cake tin of your choice. Be aware that different tins will require different baking times!

Step 4:
Place the tin into the oven at 180 degrees celsius for 30-45 minutes.

Step 5:
Enjoy!
This really is the easiest recipe, and it tastes so good! I tend to make this tea loaf in a ring tin because it cooks so quickly, but any cake tin will work just fine! I really hope you love this recipe as much as I do!
